Katittut - when things, animals or people merge and come together for one cause - expresses the unique relationship we have in bringing information and ideas together for the people of Nunavut, utilizing our specialized multi-lingual web services. Katittut brings ideas to the web in all of the official languages of Nunavut: Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French.
Katittut, a partnership between Atiigo Media and Arctic Sky Media, is a division of Atiigo Media. Atiigo Media began operations in January 2003. The company is registered with the Nunavut Government under the NNI Policy as a northern firm and with Nunavut Tungavik as an Inuit Owned Firm. Atiigo Media has held a standing offer agreement with the Government of Nunavut for communication design services for the past 2 years - a testament to our vision of providing quality products with professional service. Arctic Sky Media has served Nunavummiut for over 4 years; its list of clients includes several Nunavut Territorial and Federal Government departments, Government Organizations, Nunavut Research Institute as well as the private sector.
Katittut specializes in Inuktitut computing and guarantees quality display of Inuktitut. For many years, viewing Inuktitut on the Internet was a frustrating experience, which left many Inuktitut speakers switching to the English version of websites to access the information required. Katittut has changed this. Using the specialized font-embedding software Glyphgate, the world leading localization and advanced text layout software for web servers, our experienced and knowledgeable team will develop a website and a Content Management System (CMS) that works in Inuktitut. All CMS systems will be fully functional in Inuktitut and English; Inuktitut viewers will see exactly the same as English viewers.
Katittut focuses primarily on multi-lingual projects and works with the Government of Nunavut’s approved font: the standard Inuktitut “Pigiarniq” font. We work with all levels of government and all types of businesses in Nunavut. We pride ourselves in producing digital media of exceptionally high quality, made in the North for the people of the North.
